The Snr AdTech Specialist sits within Media Team, within the Advertising Portfolio.

The Media squad helps consumers along their property journey of renting, purchasing, selling and researching property, by connecting them with a range of products and services. This includes finance products, utilities, home services, furnishings, automotive and many more innovative advertising and lead generation tools. The fast-growing Media business includes a cross-functional team from Product, IT, Sales, Marketing, PR and Communications, HR, Finance and Legal. We’re all about using digital solutions to make property and everything that supports consumers around property, simple, efficient and stress free.

What the role is all about 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AdTech Specialist on a 12-month contract to help deliver a critical media project focused on testing and implementing advanced ad serving solutions. Your deep expertise in ad technologies, with a strong emphasis on testing and troubleshooting, will be essential for optimizing our ad operations and advancing our media strategy across web and app platforms. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business objectives during a pivotal project period.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical planning and execution of a strategic media project, ensuring robust integration and enhanced functionalities across our ad serving solutions.
  • Lead extensive testing initiatives of ad serving configurations and integrations, identifying potential challenges and executing effective troubleshooting strategies to ensure seamless performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Media Squad, AdTech & Product team, providing expert guidance and support to ensure project success and alignment with business goals.
  • Work closely with project team and developers to ensure correct implementation of ad serving features, bridging the gap between non technical and technical
  • Develop detailed project documentation, including technical specifications, testing protocols, and operational guidelines to ensure successful project implementation and sustainability.

Technical Skills & Expertise:

  • Extensive expertise in ad serving technologies (specifically GAM and SAS), with a focus on testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing setups to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Experience with ad serving API integrations and deploying ad serving solutions across both web and app platforms is highly regarded, enabling comprehensive cross-platform strategies.
  • Proficient in using audience management systems, CDPs (e.g., Tealium), DSPs, SSPs, and analytics tools, facilitating effective collaboration and innovation throughout the project.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and capitalize on optimization opportunities, utilizing data-driven insights to guide decision-making.
  • Proven experience in delivering complex technical projects involving ad serving systems

Process & Leadership:

  • Ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards throughout the project, identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Serve as a technical advocate within the organization, facilitating knowledge transfer and upskilling team members to enhance their proficiency in new media technologies.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration by facilitating cross-departmental workshops and training sessions to ensure seamless adoption of new tools and processes

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with the project team, providing regular updates and insights on project progress (with existing timelines), challenges, and solutions.
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards, contributing to a safe and positive working environment for all team members, in line with OHS & EEO principles.

Who we’re looking for 

  • 5+ years of experience in digital publishing/media and/or AdTech, with a focus on technology and support.
  • Expertise in ad serving platforms, particularly Google Ad Manager, and a broad understanding of the AdTech environment.
  • Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, APIs, with additional knowledge of SQL and Python being a plus.
  • AdTech industry experience desired – Bidding solutions, DSPs, SSPs, Tag Management, CDPs, as well as knowledge of targeting and creative setup used in media campaigns
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, curiosity, and desire to learn
  • Able to navigate and be adaptable between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Able to use sound judgement to make decisions, handle responsibility and be
    assertive within the parameters of the role
  • Someone who is proactive and takes accountability for their own work
  • Experience in process improvement, product testing, and supporting AdOps processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment.
  • Demonstrate strong team player qualities by fostering a collaborative environment, working effectively with diverse teams to achieve the overall project delivery goals and drive success through shared insights and cooperative problem-solving strategies
